Our client supplies technologically advanced & cost effective simulation - based engineering solutions to the transport, industrial & defence markets.

We are looking to recruit a Business Development Manager who would be responsible for Sales & Marketing activity to achieve the sales quota in accordance with the annual budget by discovering, developing & securing business opportunities in accordance with company strategic direction.

Skills/experience required for the role are:

• Demonstrated success in a business development role within a rail simulation/IT or software development environment.
• International marketing experience.
• Experience in tender preparation.
• Experience building relationships with government & large corporate bodies.
• Contract negotiation skills & experience.
• Existing network within the European rail industry & appropriate government departments.
• Project Management skills
• Experience in establishing & developing new markets.
• Experience in marketing products or capabilities in a technology or engineering company

Some of the key responsibilities of the role are:

• Business Development , coordinate company business development both domestically & internationally
• Manage the preparation of project proposals & tenders.
• Follow up proposals lodged with customers to maximise success.
• Market Development, research & identify new prospective markets for company products & capabilities.
• Develop marketing & sales strategies for domestic & international markets.
• Project Initiation; provide advice to project teams on the correct interpretation of customer requirements.
• Strategic Development, assist with coordination of strategic planning activities.
• Documentation & submission of annual budgets.
• Contracting, negotiate contracts & sales orders with customers.
